After a whirlwind seven weeks, the house has been sold, the furniture packed up and put on a ship, and we are on our way. But not before some teary goodbyes to the whanau.
First stop, LA and a much-promised visit to Universal Studios as well as dinner with Auntie Margie - Maya's godmother and our special friend.
Maya went for it at Universal - taking on the challenges of the Mummy Ride, Jurassic Park and The Simpsons. Both Maya and Will also had a ball in the Curious George Water Park area (thank goodness for the internet and knowing we needed to bring their swimsuits!).
The day was topped off with ribs at Tony Roma's with Aunty Margie and a drive along Hollywood Boulevard at night. What a great first day!
Next stop...London!
